One of the reasons people really like living on lakefront property is because they have quick access to the water when they want to go boating, go fishing, go swimming, or enjoy any other number of activities in the water. If you have a lakefront property that doesn't already have a dock, then you should seriously consider having a dock put in. Here are just some reasons why the addition of a dock can be such a great thing for you to have done:
Enjoy the convenience of a dock
One of the great things about having your own dock is the convenience it will offer. When there is a dock, you can easily get right into your boat or other watercraft without needing to fight with the mud and slippery surfaces. Not only does this make it so much easier for you to get in, but it also prevents other issues, like losing a shoe that gets stuck in the mud and comes off of your foot in the process or other similar issues. Also, you will find that it's a lot easier to get down in the boat from the dock than it will be trying to get up in the boat and this is especially true if you have smaller children or elderly who will have a very hard time getting up in the boat from the water.
Enjoy the entertainment opportunities
A dock can be a great addition to your lakefront property, even if you don't currently have watercraft. There are still a lot of great activities you will be able to enjoy right from the dock. For example, a dock can give you a fantastic place for you and your family to fish from. Also, it can give you a prime location to lie on a blanket at night and watch the stars. You can also take plenty of fantastic pictures on the dock.
Increase the value of your property
One more great thing that can come with the addition of a dock is the increase in the value of your home. If and when you decide to put your home up for sale in the future, sellers will like to see that there is already a dock and you will be able to set your asking price higher for the home because it will be valued higher due to the presence of a dock.

My name is Debbie Greenberg. I’m a single woman who owns her home, and like most homeowners I dread home repairs. I’m not very handy with do-it-yourself projects around the house. I can do a few minor repairs when necessary, but for the most part I have to call in a professional. Last year I had a leak in my roof. When it rained, water would leak into my kitchen. What appeared to be a simple fix turned out to be anything but simple. It took over four months to finally identify the problem, and double the money I was initially quoted to fix it. The problem ended up being that the flat part of my roof didn't have shingles, but a sheeting material. I learned a bit about home roofs along the way, and that is what I want to share with you.
