Why You Should Go With Asphalt Paving For Your Driveway

Construction & Contractors Blog

Is your current driveway not looking so hot? If it's time for a full replacement, your first decision might be to figure out what type of material to go with. If you already use asphalt, you likely already know about some of the key benefits this material can provide. But if your driveway was concrete, brick, or another material type, you may want to take another look at the benefits of contacting a local asphalt paving company before you make your final decision. Here are just some of the key reasons why so many homeowners go with asphalt for their driveway.

Long-Term Durability

Asphalt can stand up to Mother Nature and anything children throw at it. A new asphalt driveway that's given proper care and maintenance should last you for decades. Asphalt has no problem dealing with high heat or frigid cold and it can withstand anything like basketballs or street hockey pucks that kids might use against it.

Easier Maintenance Than Other Materials

When it comes time to perform maintenance on your driveway, re-paving asphalt is fairly easy. A fresh coating once per year will keep any small cracks from expanding and the work will likely be done in a day or less. Contrast this with a brick driveway or even concrete where more advanced techniques might need to be used to fill a crack or even completely replace a section of the driveway.

More Affordable

Exact prices will vary depending on your local market and what specifically you want to be done. But in general, asphalt is less expensive than concrete and is the more affordable and cost-efficient option for anyone looking for a new driveway that will provide value both now and in the future. Any ongoing maintenance will likely cost you less over time as well.

Recyclable

Your new driveway will last for many years. But when the time comes to make changes, you can feel good knowing that asphalt is 100 percent recyclable. It may even be possible to find a local asphalt paving company that uses recycled asphalt for new driveways, allowing you to reduce your property's environmental footprint even further.

Is it time for a new driveway in front of your house? Going with asphalt as your driveway material will keep the project affordable while still offering long-term durability and fewer maintenance headaches going forward. Leaking Roofs and Roof Repairs

My name is Debbie Greenberg. I’m a single woman who owns her home, and like most homeowners I dread home repairs. I’m not very handy with do-it-yourself projects around the house. I can do a few minor repairs when necessary, but for the most part I have to call in a professional. Last year I had a leak in my roof. When it rained, water would leak into my kitchen. What appeared to be a simple fix turned out to be anything but simple. It took over four months to finally identify the problem, and double the money I was initially quoted to fix it. The problem ended up being that the flat part of my roof didn't have shingles, but a sheeting material. I learned a bit about home roofs along the way, and that is what I want to share with you.
